The purpose of this review was to evaluate the research carried out in the last 5 years on the treatment of acne by acupuncture. An integrative review was carried out using the Regional Portal of the Virtual Health Library as a database. Four articles participated in this review. All the articles found were research articles, proposing a research, informing the methodology used to evaluate the treatment of acne by acupuncture. The conclusion of this study is that acupuncture has no evidence for the treatment of acne. Although some research already points to beneficial effects of this treatment, more large and rigorously designed studies are needed to confirm these findings.
