The aim of the study was to explore the effects of parental media mediation types on adolescents' perception of the usefulness of the broadcasting rating system. A total of 520 middle school students participated in the survey. Results showed a higher utility of 'autonomy-supportive restriction' strategy by the parents led to more positive perception of the usefulness of the rating system.
