... te artigo, como essas lutas ressurgem, a partir dos anos 1980, na luta pela terra, dando origem ao Assentamento Balaiada. Trata-se de uma grande conquista dos trabalhadores rurais dessa região, pois até esse momento o território ninense restringia-se praticamente a dois proprietários que concentravam a maior parte das terras do município. Recorre-se aos depoimentos dos sujeitos, como importantes fontes de construção da história, ou seja, os sujeitos da própria história, para trazermos suas experiências na luta pelo direito e permanência à terra. Abstract Since the 19th century, many conflicts have occurred in Maranhão, involving several social segments, especially the enslaved ones, since they constituted the largest social segment in this structure, culminating in the outbreak of the Balaiada War or the War of the Bem-te-vis, in the old Vila da Manga (now Nina Rodrigues) located on the banks of the Munim River, at the confluence of the Preto and Iguará rivers. We will present in this article, how these struggles reappear, starting in the 1980s, in the struggle for land, giving rise to the Balaiada Settlement.
