DEVELOPMENT OF 5-AXIS 3D PRINTER WITH FUSED DEPOSITION MODELING TECHNOLOGY
Proceedings of the International Symposium on Flexible Automation
A three-dimensional (3D) printer using the fused deposition modeling (FDM) method generally has a 3-axis configuration. However, with this method, the posture of the workpiece is fixed and the shape of the 3D model is restricted. Use of support material can solve this problem, but at the cost of extra material and laminating time. The purpose of this research is to make shapes that are difficult to laminate with 3-axis 3D printers without using support material. Therefore, we developed a 5-axis
