This study is entitled "Religion as a basic principle for writing and establishing the laws in ancient Iraq" highlights some recorded laws in ancient Iraq and exposes the impact and reflection of religion on the legal articles, particularly the articles pertaining to the economic, social and political aspects. The second topic deals with the social laws such as marriage, family, and inheritance. The third topic explores the impact of the laws on the administrative, political and military system; it also contains the most important findings of the study.
