A schiff base (SB) between salicylaldehyde and 2,4-diamino-6-phenyl-1,3,5-triazine was prepared. Thus synthesised SB is characterised by various analytical techniques like Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. The initiating efficiency of SB towards the ring opening polymerization (ROP) of Caprolactone (CL) was carried out.
