This research was conducted in Petimbe Village, Palolo District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. It held in July to September 2015. This research used Split Plot Design. The main plot was sheiter (N0) = Not in sheiter and (N1) = in sheiter and sub plots were various types of much (M0) = no mulch (M1) = rice straw mulch (M2) =black plastic mulch (M3) = silver plastic mulch. The result of the research showed that the treatment of various types of mulch had no real effect on the growth of Napu cultivarsonion in terms of plant height and number of leaves,the treatment of plastic containtment just hasreal effect only on the number of leaves at 40 DAP. However, it has not real effect on height of the plants, and the treatmentshas real effect on theyields increasing of onion including the numbers of leaves at 40 HST and had no real effect on the numbers of fresh tuber clump, fresh tuber per 5 clumps.The aims of the research was to learn and know the effect of containment and mulch on growth and yield of Napu red onion cultivar. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Petimbe, Kecamatan Palolo, Kabupaten Sigi, Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah. Yang dilaksanakan pada bulan Juli sampai dengan bulan September 2015. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Petak-petak Terpisah (Split Plot Design). Petak utama adalah sungkup: (N 0) = tidak disungkup dan (N 1) = disungkup plastik sub petak adalah jenis mulsa : (M 0) = tanpa mulsa, (M 1) = mulsa jerami padi, (M 2) = adapun anak petak mulsa plastik hitam dan (M 3) = mulsa plastik perak). Variabel pengamatan yaitu tinggi tanaman (cm) umur 30 dan 40 HST dan jumlah daun (helai) umur 30 dan 40 HST.Umbi segar perumpun (umbi), berat umbi segar perumpun (g) dan berat umbi segar per 5 rumpun (g).Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan berbagai jenis mulsa berpengaruh tidak nyata pada pertumbuhan tanaman bawang merah kultivar Napu yang meliputi tinggi tanaman dan jumlah daun, perlakuan sungkup plastik pengaruhnya hanya nyata pada jumlah daun umur 40 HST. Namun tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata pada pengamatan tinggi tanaman demikian pula perlakuan sungkup dan mulsa berpengaruh nyata terhadap peningkatan hasil tanaman bawang merah yang meliputi jumlah daun 40 HST dan berpengaruh tidak nyata pada jumlah umbi segar perumpun, berat umbi segar perumpu, berat umbi segar per 5 rumpun, ber tujuan untuk mempelajari dan mengetahui pengaruh sungkup dan mulsa terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil bawang merah kultifar napu.
