The previously unknown classes of fluoroorganoboron compounds, lithium perfluoroorganotrimethoxyborates Li [R F B(OCH 3 ) 3 ] (R F = C 2 F 5 , CF 2 =CF and C 6 F 5 ), were prepared by the nucleophilic addition of R F Li to B(OCH 3 ) 3 in ether. The Li [R F B(OCH 3 ) 3 ] salts contain no ether coordinated at Li* and are stable at room temperature towards elimination. In solution they show a differentiated behaviour of protodeborylation.
