Conversation Analysis (CA) research examines the organization of talk-in-interaction. Since, talk-in-interaction is central to virtually all kinds of instruction, one might expect that the CA literature might contribute in important ways to our understanding of how instruction in settings of collaboration is organized. The chapter focuses on three early CA articles illustrating how the constructs they introduced can be applied to the task of describing a fragment of recorded interaction.
