Crystal structure of chlorotris(dimethyldithiocarbamato)tellurium(IV), [Te(S2CNMe2)3Cl]

C9Hi8ClN3S6Te, orthorhombic, Pna2\ (No. 33), a = 9.200(6) À, b = 15.134(5) À, c = 13.722(6) À, V= 1910.6 À 3 , Z = 4, Rg{F) = 0.035, RvJF) = 0.043, Τ = 200 Κ. Source of material The compound was prepared from the reaction of Te02 (dissolved in warm HCl) with an aqueous solution of 4 molar equivalents of K[S2CNMe2]. The canary yellow precipitate was dissolved in CHCI3, layered with EtOH and red crystals of [Te(dmdtc)3Cl] deposited, mp 472 Κ -473 Κ.
