Como hipótese inicial do estudo, partimos da premissa de que o acesso aos níveis educacionais, desde a educação fundamental até o nível superior, isoladamente, não é suficiente para garantir uma ascensão social, mas sem o acesso à educação, certamente torna-se mais difícil uma evolução desses jovens na escala social brasileira. Abstract The objective of this paper is to understand the articulation between Higher Education, Work and Youth in Brazil, using the federal program "Programa Universidade Para Todos" (ProUni) as a main reference. The Program was established in 2005 and is an educational public policy that enables the access of poor young people to private Higher Education. Until 2012 has benefited more than 1 million of young people across the country. Our starting point of reflection was the following question: did "ProUni", as a Public Policy of Access to Higher Education, enable better insertion in the labor market, as well as improvements in the socioeconomic status of its graduates? Our initial hypothesis is based on the premise that the access alone to the educational levels, from primary education up to higher education is not enough to ensure social mobility. However, without the educational access the social ascension is certainly more difficult for the young people in Brazil.
