The COMPASS (COmprehensive Magnetic Processes under the African Southern Sub-continent) program forms part of a collaboration project between Germany and South Africa, called Inkaba ye Africa, and aims to investigate the regional geomagnetic field in this area, particularly its evolutionary behaviour.
