Mark Duffy produced a complete set of grinding data on a pilot-scale tower mill. Here these data are analyzed in terms of grinding kinetics. The results show that the data can be fitted with a simple first-order breakage model, which is not normally observed in any grinding system, including other types of grinding machines such as tumbling ball mills and rod mills.
