Since knowledge of medical communication education and objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) is increasing, a greater number of simulated patients/standardized patients (SPs) will undoubtedly be needed throughout Japan. At Tokyo Medical University in Japan, non-medical professional school staff members have acted as SPs in post-clinical clerkship OSCEs.
