To date, education and training in the mining sector in Burkina Faso is quite "theoretical" because of certain limiting factors. Several recommendations and projects try to answer the mismatch between research, training and jobs. The "railway model" proposed here presents the possibility of applying a new mode of collaboration between the different actors in sustainable development in the applied geosciences.
