Numerical Calculation of Free Jet with High Pressure Ratio

Inviscid flows of free jet are numerically calculatd by the finite difference mothod for pressure ratios 20 and 12.2, respectively. The results are shown to give good comparisons with experimental density field pictures taken by the electron beam method, as well as with experience formulae. Also the numerical results show the mechanism of aerodynamic accelelation of the subsonic flow up to slightly supersonic flow, behind the Mach disc.
