The virtual machine tool environment proposed in this paper presents a solution for seamlessly connecting all aspects of machine tool motion control systern design, It captures the characteristics of both mechanical and electrical subsystems. The perforrnance of the entire integrated system can be eyaluated by changing parameters of interest.
