The aim of this paper is to study the inductionheating processes by using optimal design with GeneticAlgoritms (GAs) respectively fmincon and minimaxoptimisation methods. The optimisation is performed inorder to obtain a high value of electrical efficiency of theinductor, as well a minimum non-uniformity of thetemperature distribution in the workpiece. The optimisationis performed in two different ways: by using a simplegenetic algorithm and with fmincon and minimaxfunctions.
