We examined the psychosomatic effects of solVing mental arithmetic tasks en VDTs ( Visual Display Terminals ) for 90 minutes in 15 men between 20 and 23 years of age . Salivary cortisol levels at 30, 60, and 90 minutes after the start of the VDT tasks were not significant cQmpared with baseline level ( O minutes ), Sixty minutes after the start of the tasks, scores of measures representing ' stiffness of shoulders and tiredness of eyes ' were significantly higher than baseline , while
