This paper proposes a novel Improved Hybrid Differential Evolution (IHDE) combined with Lagrangian relaxation (LR) technique to solve the unit commitment problem (UCP) of Thermal generators. Improved Hybrid differential evolution (IHDE) is a simple population based stochastic function method.
