Due to the many different perspectives taken when using 'information', it has inevitably become a vague term. In the context of MMC it is defined as the outcome of 'interpretation' when applied to data. Furthermore, MMC is achieved through one of two types of information artefacts: data-based (DB) or knowledge-based (KB). Unlike KB artefacts, the DB ones have been well studied in HCI.
