<p class="abstract"><strong>Background:</strong> Mumps is an acute infectious disease caused by RNA virus. Clinically, the disease is presented as non suppurative enlargement and tenderness of one or both the parotid glands. The annual incidence of mumps in the absence of immunization is in the range of 100-1000 cases/100000 population. Mumps mostly occurs in children in age group of 5-9 years.
