Chromosomes in normal, preneoplastics, and neoplastic tissues of the mammary glands of C3H/Crgl female mice

The significance of the chromosomal aberrations often associated with cancer cell populations is a problem of major concern to oncologists. The asso ciation between chromosomal aberrations and neoplasia was suggested by early studies on ascites tumors (7) . Some investigators consider that kary otypic instability is not essential for the neoplastic transformation (1, 9) .
