Os resultados mostram que as comunidades escolar e local apresentam um interesse contínuo e consciente sobre a importância da conservação do meio ambiente e os efeitos positivos que proporcionam à população em geral. ABSTRACT: (STUDY ON THE ENVIRONMENT THROUGH COMMUNITY SCHOOL FOR PROJECT METHODOLOGY). This study was conducted in a rural state school in Cold Water District in Chapada dos Guimarães. Currently, to meet the demands of society is needed the participation of subjects more active, critical and innovative capacity to produce knowledge The methodology for the research project was developed in the school community and local community, represented by parents through questionnaires and open interviews. Data were collected during 2012 with daily activities in the school. The research aimed to raise awareness and enhance the empirical knowledge of the school community and local community through educational activities and environmental practices in the context of education and the environment. The results show that the school and local communities have an ongoing interest and aware about the importance of conservation the environment and the positive effects that provide for the general population.
