RESUMEN: El artículo analiza la estética de Libro de Manuel (Julio Cortázar, 1973) como una respuesta a los debates sobre la función del intelectual revolucionario que habían tenido lugar en la segunda mitad de los años sesenta, y en las que Cortázar había participado activamente. ABSTRACT: The article analizes the aesthetics of Book of Manuel (Julio Cortázar, 1973) as a response to the debates on the rol of revolutionary intelligentsia wich took place in the late sixties. The author focuses on the way the novel mixed the neo-avantgardist poetics with the theory of the 'new man' by Guevara and with some emerging discourses such as testimony.
