First-order equivalent to Einstein-Hilbert Lagrangian

A first-order Lagrangian L ∇ variationally equivalent to the second-order Einstein-Hilbert Lagrangian is introduced. Such a Lagrangian depends on a symmetric linear connection, but the dependence is covariant under diffeomorphisms.
