ヘルマン・ハインリッヒ・ゴッセンとカール・メンガーの交換理論を考察する。前者は社会的厚 生の最大化を考えるという意味で明らかに規範的な交換理論を展開しているが, 後者の交換理論にはそのような含意はない。本論文では, 両者の理論的な構造を明らかにし, あわせてゴッセンの交換理論が旧厚生経済学に依拠していることを確認する。さらに, 私自身の立場から新厚生経済学にたいする若干の疑義をも表明する。 This study examines the exchange theories in H. H. Gossen and C. Menger. While the former clearly develops a normative exchange theory in the sense of considering the maximization of social welfare, the latter's exchange theory has no such implication.
