Productividad primaria neta en una selva tropical húmeda

The net primary productivity (NPP) of a tropical rain forest in Los Tuxtlas, Veracruz, México, was determined sampling the litterfall in one ha of forest during a three year period. NPP was, for each of the three years 10.6, 13.2 and 16.2 t ha-1 year-1. These figures are lower than the mean values reported for these communities, however in the present study root productivity was not measured.
