An autopsy case of myotonic dystrophy with gastric cancer

A 49 old male patient with myotonic dystrophy died of gastric cancer. At autopsy, tubular adenocarcinoma (moderately differentiated type) in the cardia with general metastases (including liver, lungs). Dystrophic changes were seen in all skeletal muscles examined. There was no descriptions about the gastric cancer in myotonic dystrophy in the textbook. But several Japanese reports mentioned about this complication.
