The aorta consists of an ascending segment, a transverse segment or arch, and a descending segment consisting of descending thoracic aorta and descending abdominal aorta. Conclusion: The knowledge of the diameters of abdominal aorta at various levels can help in effective diagnostic tool in a case of abdominal aortic aneurysm and also for the endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysm by vascular endograft implantation.
