Sudden cardiac death (SCD) remains a leading cause of cardiovascular mortality in the world. The trans-venous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator(TV-ICD) is the most effective approach for primary and secondary prevention of SCD. In response to the growing treatment complexity associated with long-term endocardial management, the subcutaneous implantable cardioverter-defibrillator ICD (SICD) was developed.
