In this paper, an operational implementation of a linked GIS and spatial data analysis framework is illustrated using ArcView 2.1 and SpaceStat 1.80. The emphasis is on techniques of exploratory spatial data analysis to describe spatial distributions, visualize the pattern of spatial autocorrelation and assess the presence of global and local spatial association.
