Views of Fine Arts High School Music Teachers on Distance Education During the Covid-19 Pandemic

The purpose of this study is to determine the views of music teachers working in the Fine Arts High Schools (FAHS) about distance education at the Covid-19 pandemic period. The data of the study were collected in the 2020-2021 spring semester from 11 music teachers who work in Erzurum Raci Alkır FAHS and Elazığ Kaya Karakaya FAHS Music Departments. As a result of the research, it has been determined that all of the FAHS music teachers teach via distance education and conduct these lessons from home and do not receive any education towards distance education. Teachers and students have been experienced problems especially due to technology and the internet. Also determined that the students' motivations are low due to the problems experienced, the students in the rural areas cannot access distance education. The teachers think that the non-theoretical lessons are not proper for distance education, and they can switch to hybrid (mixed) education after the pandemic, and that theoretical courses are suitable for distance education in such a case.
