Deformable strokes towards temporally coherent video painting

In this paper we present an automatic and robust technique for creating NPR rendering and animation from video. We use a set of algorithms to generate and place our initial frame strokes. Due to the fact that strokes in our system are represented as a set of particles and springs simulated in a physically based system, our strokes can undergo several transformations such as translation, rotation and shape deformation. more » ... flow. Additionally, at each frame we delete unnecessary strokes and add new ones if needed in order to refine the final render image. Therefore, our framework automatically generates NPR video animation preserving shape details and animating strokes moving along with the underlying objects, which is hard to achieve with use of the previous methods.
