The article presents the distribution of adult patients discharged from hospital and day hospitals by classes of diseases in the Russian Federation for 2005-2014. It is shown that in the country for 10 years, the average length of stay of adult patients in the hospitals has decreased from 14,5 to 12,35 days, in day hospitals - from 12,0 to 10,3 days. The maximum duration of stay in adult patients - in hospitals and day hospitals identified in connection with mental disorders and behavioral disorders, some infectious and parasitic diseases.
