Green Functions for the Radial Electric Component of the Monopole Wake Field in a Round Resistive Chamber

We compare dierent approximations to the point-charge Green function for the radial electric monopole eld excited by an ultrarelativistic particle propagating through a resistive pipe, and study the applicability of these approximations for calculating the eld of a bunch with nite length. It has been speculated that the exact form of the electric eld could be important for simulations of the electron-cloud instability.
