We propose a jointly optimal caching and routing framework (JOCAR) for a cooperative mobile edge caching network. This novel network architecture enables mobile edge servers/nodes (MENs) to collaborate in not only caching but also routing contents to users, in order to simultaneously minimize the total content-access delay for all mobile users and reduce the traffic on the backhaul network.
