Infrared sensor to detect SARS The Shanghai Institute of Technology and Physics recently invented an infrared sensor that can determine a person's body temperature without physical contact. The sensor "will find wide and easy applications in public places, such as railway stations, airports, and harbours, to curb the spread of SARS", reports the newsletter of China's Ministry of Science and Technology.
