ObjectiveTo investigate the association between body mass index (BMI) and all-cause mortality in a Chinese rural population.DesignProspective cohort study.SettingThis study was conducted from 2003 to 2018 in Anqing, Anhui Province, China.Participants17 851 participants aged 25–64 years (49.4% female) attending physical examinations and questionnaire were included in this study.
