SARS-CoV-2 is the infectous agent of COVID-19, one of the most important health problems of the twenty-first century. IL17RA is an crucial receptor in the generation of the host immune response. ORF8 is the viral accessory protein of SARS-CoV-2 that suppresses the host immune response. Mutations can alter the viral properties and clinical course of SARS-CoV-2.
