1873 The Lancet
Hardwicke.-The fact of a third edition of this little book being demanded so soon is a guarantee of its excellence. Much new matter interspersed with woodcuts has been incorporated into the present edition. In addition to proofs of a general revision, we would expressly direct attention to the acceptable chapter on Polarised Light: a popular account of the polariscope was much needed. The book now forms an interesting and reliable guide to amateur microscopists.
