Theoretical Knowledge of Greek Tennis Coaches

The knowledge of coaches around theoretical issues is a qualitative work factor in the sport. Greek tennis coaches' knowledge in the technical, tactical, teaching-coaching, rules and the tennis racket was studied through a questionnaire of 80 questions. The sample consists of 29 male tennis coaches and was divided into two categories, the university Departments of Physical education and sport science graduates and the graduates of the Governmental secretariat of sport or other schools. more » ... r schools. The former seem to predominate in the theoretical knowledge of teaching-coaching and rules, and the latter in the technical analysis of strokes and tennis racket issues. It appears that there is a statistically significant difference on how Physical education graduates feel more teachers than coaches, compared with other graduates. however, the theoretical knowledge of coaches in tennis around the teaching-coaching issues, in general, is at a moderate to satisfactory level.
