The article provides an analysis and basic approaches to the choice of paint and varnish coatings and the technology of their application. A logical model of the life cycle of a paintwork system is presented. The key features of the development of an algorithm for designing a technological line for applying paint and varnish coatings are considered, with the possibility of choosing a coating system taking into account the operational, technological and economic characteristics of the project.
