the efficiency of bird watching differ in for・ est paths from in the forests ? Tohoku J. For . Sci. 7 :12 − 19, 2002 We examined the efficiency of bird watching on forest paths and 50 meters within the urban forest , This study adopted a plot census method with observation points set on forest paths that are 3 meters wide and farther in the forest itself . and birds that appeared within a 50 − meter observation radius were recorded . In the forest . observation points were set 50 meters away

We compared the number of species , the total number of individuals , the degree of watching detectability , and Flsynthetically evaluated value 門 indices of bird watching outcome on forest paths and in the forest itself Results indicated that there was no difference in each variable in most different forest types . Also, comparing the number of each bird species on forest paths and in the forests , the frequency on forest paths was not significantly lower than that in the forests in any of the species . In conclusion , it can be said that bird watching on forest paths is as effective as in the forests . 1.は じ め に
