In the Internet of Things (IoT), a gateway and a set of IoT devices (IoTDs) form a startopology and the IoTDs compete between them for sending uplink communication during short time slots. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a novel multiple access protocol with time-slot reservation that can increase the success rate of the uplink data transmission with collision avoidance in the IoT.
