Upon the structure of metals and binary alloys

In the following paper the author has tried to illustrate the constitution of binary alloys by a few notes upon the s(ructure of metals and alloys. The methods of obtaining a knowledge of the structure of metals and alloys are first discussed, then the crystalline structure of metals, the effects of strain and the effect of heat treatment are illustrated. Finally, the various groups of binary alloys are set forth and the constitution of several examples, representative of the various groups as
