This study examjned whether the use of role − playing was effective or not for lessons in Consumer Education in a junior high schooL In a junior high school in Yamaguchi prefecture , 154 students in the first grade were divided into experimental and controlled groups , and experimental lessons were given by use of role − playing。 Results are as follows: 1 Lessons using role − playing improved students ' understanding in the case of contract leaming better than the lessons without them . 2 Role
