Experimental Investigation on Strength Properties of Plastic Reinforced Cohesive Soil
International Research Journal of Engineering and Technology (IRJET)
unpublished
The waste plastic especially in the form of discarded plastic beverage bottles is shredded into strips and added as reinforcement with red earth, to improve the strength characteristics of red earth, and experiments like Conventional tri-axial (D = 36mm) and large scale tri-axial tests (D = 100mm) are conducted on specimens prepared from both unreinforced soil specimens and specimens prepared with varying percentages of plastic strips.
