Ni-based superalloy, GTD-111, was coated using a single step high temperature high activity (HTHA) gas phase aluminizing process. Results indicated that the coatings were uniform and consisted of two main layers. Increasing either Al and/or NH 4 Cl in the powder chamber resulted in an increase in the coating thickness. The final microstructure of the coating was similar to that formed in the conventional pack cementation method via the HTLA process.
