It is important to develop the hybrid vehicle drive motor without heavy-rare-earth. It is because demand expansion of hybrid vehicle and procurement risk of heavy-rare-earth. We developed the Hybrid Vehicle drive motor without the use of heavy-rare-earth elements. In the development, we studied rotor shape for low coercive force, especially shape of center rib, flux barrier shape and small hole in order to enable to use developed heavy-rare-earth-free magnet.
